To all Monroe Business Owners:
Saturday, April 18th has been designated as “Operation Clean Sweep Day” in the Town of Monroe.
Monroe Clean Sweep will NOT be conducted from 8:00 AM to 12 noon. Plans for the day involve cleaning up litter in several areas; our focal point will be the portion of Route 17M from the intersection of Routes 17 and 17M and some ancillary roads in the Village of Harriman to Airplane Park in the Village of Monroe.
In addition, this year, were offering free shredding services and the Town of Monroe will be offering free electronics disposal. Do NOT Bring all your electronic equipment to be disposed of properly. DO NOT Bring your documents to be shredded and your electronics between 8am and 12pm.
The Greater Monroe Chamber of Commerce (GMCoC) along with the Town of Monroe and the Villages of Monroe and Harriman is taking the lead in this annual event in collaboration with local businesses, church, civic and volunteer groups.
We appreciate your past support to instill local pride by sprucing up the local area. The day’s effort is important both practically and symbolically — as we clean up a major thoroughfare, we hopefully set a pattern that others will follow and that will carry over into the months ahead. Operation Clean Sweep is scheduled for the weekend celebrating Earth Day, further emphasizing the importance of protecting the environment and the natural beauty of our communities. Individuals and groups who cannot join us are encouraged to demonstrate their support by cleaning up in their local area.
We look forward to your business being a major sponsor for this event. Sponsorships are available at two levels:
$500 Sponsor – will be acknowledged by having their names/logo placed on T-shirts and their logo will appear prominently on all posters, flyers and materials distributed through-out the community and in local press, the Monroe Clean Sweep Web-site and local TV.
$100 Sponsor – Company name will appear on “T” Shirts and the Monroe Clean Sweep Web-site.
Consult with your accountant; all or a portion of your sponsorship may be tax deductible. Checks should be made payable to Greater Monroe Chamber of Commerce, Inc. Sponsorship forms are available at the Town and Village halls, at the GMCoC office (158 Stage Road) or click here to download a form.
